The High Weald Dairy is an award winning family-run business based on the same dairy farm as Wild Boar Wood Campsite. Our good friends at the dairy are now offering cheese dairy tours and tastings. We highly recommend this experience if you’re a cheese lover! The dairy is just one mile up the road from Wild Boar Wood so it’s a great local experience.
The tour itself lasts around two hours and will give you a real insight into how cheese is made. Groups for the tour are between 4 – 12 people so you’ll have an intimate experience with the chance to chat directly with the course tutors. Following the cheese making process from start to finish, you’ll end in the cheese maturing room. This is where the magic really happens.
After your tour you’ll take part in a tutored cheese tasting and have the opportunity to taste up to seven of the dairy’s delicious cheeses.
Why not pick up a ‘campers cheese selection’ while you’re there to enjoy back at the campsite around the campfire.
Tour and tasting experience costs: £35 per person
Tours take place on Saturdays at 11am, other times can be organised for groups in advance. Head to the dairy’s website to book.
