The Team

The team that makes it run smoothly…

Campsites Manager: Ben

Campsite manager Ben at Beech Estate campsite

Ben, moved to Beech Estate Campsite in 2020 to help out part time after working as a tour guide abroad. With a real interest in the outdoors and true adventurous spirit, he was a really great fit! After his first season he came back as the campsite warden in 2021 and worked hard to make the campsite look and feel its best. Ben now joins us as campsites manager and manages both Beech Estate and Wild Boar Wood Campsites and our lovely on-site wardens.

Campsite Wardens:

Campsite wardens in Sussex

Steffi (middle) has been our wonderful campsite warden for the past two years but this year joins us just for the camp set up. She’ll be getting Wild Boar Wood looking beautiful and training up our new wardens before she heads off to new adventures.

Nikita (left) has been our part time warden at Wild Boar Wood for the past three years but joins us this year full time and living on site. She is a wonderfully cheerful worker and having grown up locally, knows the area well. Make sure you use her knowledge for local things to do when you visit!

Suki (right) will be a new addition to the team this year, working hand in hand with Nikita and running the campsite together. She is an enthusiastic and happy warden who will be be taking her first steps into off grid living. She’ll be on hand to help during your stay and answer any questions you may have.

In the office: Katie and Hugh

Hugh, is the man behind Wild Boar Wood and Beech Estate Campsites (formerly Eco Camp UK). An Aussie by birth and a Brightonian by choice, Hugh started Eco Camp UK back in 2010. His idea was to provide the essence of wild camping in a way that was environmentally friendly, easy and enjoyable for families. Hugh is married with three children.

Katie is the Office Manager and will likely be the person you’ll talk to on the phone or by email if you have any questions. Katie has a love of the outdoors and is a keen camper (and glamper) in her spare time.
