Forest Holidays

This year is set to be the year of forest holidays. After years of talking about the benefits of getting outdoors more, surrounding yourself with trees and trying out the Japanese ritual of Shinrin-Yoko (forest bathing), the trend is finally catching on. According to Google, searches for forest holidays have grown by 55% as people are starting to cotton on to why it’s so popular. Popular booking site Canopy and Stars is predicting that this year will see a huge push in people wanting to stay in woodland locations.

Forest holidays in Sussex at Beech Estate Campsite

We like to consider ourselves experts in forest holidays and woodland breaks. But it’s easy to say that when we are so spoilt with such beautiful forests. So for those of you that want to get away from it all into a magical Sussex woodland, we have just the right place for you!

Forest Holidays – bell tents in a magical semi ancient woodland

Hidden secluded forest bell tent

Our woodland at Wild Boar Wood is filled with magic. If you’re not playing down in Boggy Bottom, having fun in the mud kitchen or relaxing next to your campfire then you’re just not doing it right. The campsite makes for the perfect forest holiday, with bell tents set up and waiting for your arrival. A real back to nature experience, but with no need to pack all of your equipment. You and your family can turn up, light the campfire and be in relaxed bliss before you know it.

Wild Boar Wood is just 1-2 hours from London and only around thirty minutes from Brighton and the coast, so it’s the perfect spot for a weekend or short getaway. Get out of the city and into the wild. You’ll love cooking up dinner on the campfire, admiring the carpet of bluebells (season dependant) and chatting to the local wildlife that will flit and flutter around you. Make sure you run to the adjacent field to wave at the passing steam trains of the Bluebell Railway.
