Things to do

Wakehurst Place

Wakehurst Place is around twenty three miles from Beech Estate Campsite.

This is the country estate of the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. Formal and ornamental gardens are surrounded by natural woodland, lakes and countryside in Ardingly stretching to 465 acres. There is also an Elizabethan House and the 21st Century Millenium Seedbank – the world’s largest seed conservation project. There is a lot to see at this first-class garden which is complete with facilities including a cafe and a self-service family restaurant. Daily tours point out seasonal plants of interest and explain the history of the site. It’s easy to spend a long sunny day here taking in all the beauty.
