The romantic moated castle at Hever was once home to Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII and mother to Queen Elizabeth I. There has been a castle at Hever since the 13th century. Today, visitors can find out about the twelve families that have called this grand country house home during the last 700 years with a look around the castle and grounds. There are plenty of reminders of former residents through the stunning interiors and artefacts on display, including many reminders of its most famous resident Anne Boleyn. The castle was her childhood home and it is thought that King Henry VIII visited the castle several times during their courtship.
