Bodiam Castle is in Robertsbridge, around ten miles from Beech Estate Campsite.
A beautiful historic site on our list of things to do in Sussex with kids. There’s lots of space to run around outside this 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge. Kids will love having to cross the moat to enter the ruins. It is described by the National Trust as one of the country’s ‘most picturesque and romantic’ ancient monuments. While the castles outer walls remain, the interior is ruined but still gives an impression of what life would have been like in the medieval period. It’s a great place for a picnic, although there is a cafe at the site and a pub with a garden opposite, too.
