Things to do

Bateman’s is around seven miles from Beech Estate Campsite.

The former home of Rudyard Kipling, Bateman’s, in Burwash is a 17th Century house which looks as it much as it would have been when Kipling lived there. This Jacobean building has beamed ceilings and mullioned windows which look out onto beautiful views of the countryside. Evidence of Kipling’s travels can still be found in some of the artefacts which decorate the rooms.
