Half term camping

Half term camping holidays can make the school holidays more fun for both children and adults. A great mini break during the school half term for the family is a camping trip to one of our Sussex campsites in the woods. The Easter holidays and spring half term can be a lovely time to come camping, If you are a little nervous about the weather at this time of year take a look at our list of reasons to camp in spring. We think it’s a fabulous time to get out in nature.

Half term camping

A bell tent among bluebells at Beech Estate

Our Beech Estate Woodland Campsite opens at the beginning of April so is usually open for the Easter holidays, depending on when Easter falls. The campsite stays open until the end of October so you can even get an Autumn half term camping break in too! Visit our booking page to check availability and exact opening times.

Both Wild Boar Wood Campsite and Beech Estate Woodland Campsite will be open for May half term camping. Our sites are, of course, also ideal for Bank Holiday camping and camping in the school summer holidays.

Choose Wild Boar Wood or Beech Estate for your half term camping trip and you can stay in one of our British-made bell tents. If you prefer to bring your own tent, try Beech Estate where we offer both bell tents and pitches. Our campsites are close to London and Brighton. So if you are coming from either city, it is not too far to travel with the children and your holiday can begin straight away.

We offer camping in the woods, camping with open campfires and family friendly camping breaks. Ideal for children, in our lovely campsites in the Sussex countryside. Our campsites are close to the South Coast, Brighton and Lewes. There are lots of great places to visit with family activities which children will love.

Things to do near the campsite during your half term camping trip

If you are planning on a half term camping holiday why not download the Woodland Trust’s Nature Detectives Spring Activities for young campers? The site also has other resources suitable for other times of the year.
