For the majority of the year, we define ourselves as a family campsite. But that leaves a large part of the year when the kids are at school. These times are when we’re the perfect spot for glamping for couples.
We’re a simple, back to nature campsite with tucked away pitches and bell tents that make for a quiet retreat from the real world. When you want to get away together with no distractions but the cosy campfire and night sky. We think Beech Estate and sister campsite, Wild Boar Wood, are both great choices for glamping for couples.
Fully equipped secluded bell tents
Beech Estate Campsite takes up around 20 acres of a private 600 acre woodland. This means the majority of our bell tents are tucked away in private woodland glades. This really gives you a sense of privacy and often the feeling that you’re the only people on site. You won’t find silk sheets and hot tubs at Beech Estate Campsite but you will find wilderness, wildlife, campfires, nature and hundreds of acres of woodland to explore. We pride ourselves on our ‘wild glamping’ style – giving you the chance to switch off and get back to basics.

Everything is provided in our bell tents apart from your bedding. You can pack light, leave right after work and turn up for a night or two of relaxation and adventure on your couples glamping trip. Pack your evening meal, a bottle of your favourite wine and get the fire started as soon as you arrive. It doesn’t take long to melt into the background together and with just FireTV and the stars for entertainment, you’ll have a real chance to reconnect.

There’s no wifi, but you will find a better connection
When to visit for glamping for couples
We’d recommend avoiding the school holidays and bank holidays as this is when we really do have a focus on families. That’s not to say we won’t allow you to come camping as a couple! But it does mean it’s the busiest time on site. For a more relaxed feel, try visiting us in Spring or Autumn. The evenings can be a little cooler but that’s just more excuse for a campfire and snuggles. Weekdays are always a great choice when looking for a quieter stay, even in Spring and Autumn we’re fully booked most weekends.

Pitch your own tent
If you prefer to pitch your own tent then that’s no problem either! Most of our pitches are secluded within the trees and as with the bell tents, they each have their own firepit.
Where are the campsites?
Beech Estate Campsite is in East Sussex, generally around 1-1.5 hours from London, 50 minutes from Brighton and near the coast. There are plenty of nearby attractions for during your visit. As well as some fantastic country walks to our local pubs.
If you really fancy a treat try a local vineyard tour, there are plenty locally to choose from. One of the closest to Beech Estate campsite is Carr Taylor.

Wild Boar Wood Campsite
Our sister campsite, Wild Boar Wood is a smaller site with just nine bell tents in a five acre woodland. The campsite is in West Sussex and has the steamtrains of the bluebell railway running past. Being a much smaller campsite means bell tents are a little less secluded but we do have our two ‘faraway’ bell tents here for those wanting a little more seclusion on a glamping for couples break. Just mention you’d like one on booking! (subject to availability)
