We are looking for a Live-in Couple for our Woodland Campsite for the 2020 season
The perfect campsite job for couples or two friends. Work with us at our beautiful woodland campsite near Battle, East Sussex, from March – November.
The role involves running a thirty pitch and eight bell tent campsite set on a private estate in a 600 acre woodland. The campsite is off grid so there is no power at all. You’ll need a good level of fitness and a high proficiency in the English language. Please only apply if there are two of you and if you can stay with us for the whole duration.
Running the site entails checking in guests, manning reception, cleaning facilities and furnished bell tents and general maintenance. Weekends and holidays are very busy but the campsite is generally quite quiet outside of these times.
Accommodation is in a furnished shepherds hut. We provide cooking equipment as well as your firewood supply. Bathroom facilities are shared with our campsite guests. We have outdoor bucket showers, regular toilets and compost toilets. Toilet roll and biodegradable hygiene products are supplied. There is very limited internet access and no mains electricity on site.
What we expect of you:
– flexibility to working hours, there are days when the campsite is empty but others when it is very busy
– respect for our woodland
– a helpful, energetic attitude (outdoor life isn’t always easy, especially when the sun isn’t shining so please come well prepared)
– openness and a willingness to work and to try new things
– experience in dealing with customers is a must
– You are in charge of the campsite so you must be comfortable in dealing with any situation that may arise
The site: Beech Estate Campsite
This campsite job for a couple or two friends is ideal for nature lovers! Our beautiful off-grid campsite is located in a 600 acre woodland in East Sussex in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a low noise, family-oriented place and no cars are allowed into the campsite. We have ‘bring-your-own’ tent pitches and glamping bell tents, each tucked into its own glade. We offer the closest thing to wild camping, with the added luxury of basic facilities. There is mains drinking water and running hot water, but no electricity. And, of course, lots of trees.
Several pubs, a cafe, post office and convenience store are in walking distance (30-45 mins). The historic town of Battle (for supermarkets, public library with Internet access, cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as Battle Abbey) is only two miles away. In your time off we recommend you explore the vast woodland and beaches nearby, or just relax on site.
