Camping is the best adventure in the UK!

We recently read Go Outdoor’s blog on ‘The Great British Outdoors Index’. They’ve collated a lot information into a lovely list of the top searched for adventures in the UK. We are so pleased to see that camping is the best adventure in the UK! We obviously would’ve guessed this, but the 5,273,500 annual google searches really goes to show how much us Brits love to camp. The pandemic saw a huge surge in camping trips being booked due to the uncertainty of travelling abroad, but it doesn’t seem to have stopped there. With new campers pitching up for the first time and seasoned campers taking even longer breaks, it’s great to see the same faces appearing at Pegs and Pitches campsites again this season.

Why camping is the best adventure in the UK

We think it’s easy to see why camping came out on top as the best adventure in the UK. There’s a whole list of reasons why we love camping:

  • Time with family and friends with no distractions
  • Time in nature
  • Taking things back to basics
  • Campfires!
  • Campfire food
  • It’s a cheap holiday
  • Time to get away from the city
  • Country walks
  • Country pubs
  • Time away from technology
  • It’s an eco friendly, sustainable holiday
