Which campsites can claim to be the best campsites in Britain? With camping and glamping becoming the new ‘staycation’ of choice there are lots of great campsites and glamping sites popping up all the time. Our area of Sussex is quintessentially English and not too far from London so there are plenty of campsites in our area.
But ask me which are the best and of course I’m going to say Wild Boar Wood and Beech Estate Campsites. I may be biased, but reviews and feedback tell me that we have created two of the best campsites in Sussex. Perhaps even in England and in Britain. Both are set in beautiful woodlands in lovely parts of Sussex. Lots of the qualities I think are important are included. That’s how I have tried to create them, as campsites my family and friends would love to stay in.
In such a subjective field, I would say these are my main criteria when I looking for a great campsite:
- Campfires allowed – nothing like a bit of fire TV;
- Family friendly;
- Pitches for couples away from the crowds;
- Beautiful Setting;
- Lots of opportunities for great walks;
- A relaxed, chilled vibe;
- Away from main roads and light pollution.
Three of my favourites in Sussex (apart from our own sites of course) are Wowo Campsite, Blackberry Wood and the Secret Campsite. I’m pleased to say I think our two campsites tick most, if not all, the boxes above. Take a look at the reviews we’ve had on Trip Advisor from campers to form your own view too.
As camping fans we are always keen to hear about other campsites that are recommended so drop us a line to tell us about your favourite sites. Nothing beats a good recommendation.
