Group Camping Escape
The Woodland Meadow is our largest group camping pitch and is suitable for 12+ families. At Beech Estate Campsite we specialise in family group camping and have plenty of options for you. As well as the large group family pitch, these include double pitches, smaller group pitches for 3-5 families, and our Faraway Group Area for 6-10 families. Each option is chosen based on your needs and group size to ensure the perfect balance of nature and space.
At Beech Estate Campsite we offer camping groups:

- Unfurnished bell tents available for those without a tent of their own
- Large group campfire pits for gathering around, cooking, toasting marshmallows…and late-night fire TV!

Discover the Woodland Meadow
The Woodland Meadow is ideal for larger groups of families and friends who would like to pitch their own tents together. This area is generally reserved exclusively for a group of twelve to twenty families – but on occasions we do split the area to include two groups.
The large woodland glade is a unique tree-lined area with its own flushing toilets, open air urinals, and washing-up and drinking water point. This area provides a group camping pitch well away from other campers, in your own section of the campsite.
There is room for families to relax together. Play games (Kubb! Swingball! Badminton! Boules!). Space for the parents and space for the kids, surrounded by woods all ready for exploration and adventure.
The group camping pitch is also close to the reception, a short walk from the car park (we have wheelbarrows to help move your equipment). It is the only area in the campsite where Campervans may also access by prior arrangement (unless we encounter extreme and unseasonal rain). Cars are left in the car park to preserve the peaceful nature of the campsite and may not access the group pitch. This ensures children are safe to roam and play freely.
Camping and glamping combination
If some of your group don’t have their own tents, or just want the ease of turning up to a pre-pitched tent, we offer unfurnished bell tents within the group camping pitch. These are four or five metre bell tents that will sleep up to six people and beds can also be provided. Please do not get these confused with our furnished glamping tents, as these sit in specific spots on the campsite and are not part of the Woodland Meadow.
Should members of you group like to book a fully furnished ‘wild glamping’ tent, we will try to locate them in the closest glamping tent available at the time of booking. For reference the closest glamping tent is about 100 metres as the crow flies.
Booking conditions and costs for the group camping pitch
- Two night minimum stay required on weekends, three nights on bank holidays
- £1500 minimum spend (approximately) on camping fees for a two night weekend
- Must agree to our group camping rules
Our standard camping fees are:
£27 per adult per night
£13.50 per child (3 – 16 years old) per night
Unfurnished bell tents:
£105 for the stay on top of daily camping fees
£8 per bed
Facilities
Toilets, showers and washing-up points –
The Woodland Meadow has two flushing toilets and a set of urinals at its entrance. It also has a fresh water tap and a washing-up area.
It’s a short distance from the main campsite toilets and our famous bucket showers. The main facilities (pictured above) have three flushing toilets, urinals, washing points, three hot water points and three bucket showers (with hot water). We have numerous other toilets, water points, bucket showers and washing-up points spread around the campsite. We supply eco friendly washing up liquid, body wash, shampoo and toilet paper.
Campfires –
The open fires are designed as places for people to come together, cook food, swap stories, toast marshmallows and relax. Re-establish the lost art of conversation. After dark, watch fire TV – the best show in the campsite.
600 acres of woodland –
- Beech Estate is located on a beautiful private estate.
- The campsite is spread over 25 acres on the edge of a 600-acre woodland in a 2100-acre private estate.
- Our campers have exclusive access to the woodland with miles of forest rides to walk and cycle along.
- Great mountain biking in a beautiful woodland setting.
- British wildlife abounds, including deer, owl, rabbits, foxes, badgers, hawks and more.
- Local country pubs are with walking distance, such as The Squirrel Inn. This pub is a 40 minute walk through the Estate’s woodland, then out through the secret exit and you’re there!
Light, power and cooking –
- We do not use any mains electricity at campsite; lighting in the facilities is provided by solar lamps, wind-up lanterns, and low energy led battery units.
- We encourage you to experience a campfire – a renewable energy source for cooking and warmth.
- There is generally mobile signal onsite, although it can be sporadic. We do however encourage campers to switch-off and minimise the use of devices.

Group Guidelines
Campsite Philosophy and Rules – please read.
· We ask all campers to be conscious of and respect their neighbours (both campers and people who live in the area);
· We have a low noise policy before 9am and after 10pm – so children (or adults) shouting/screaming on the campsite either side of these times is not allowed;
· We have a strictly no amplified music policy;
· You cannot take wood from the forest or forest floor to burn (you can buy from us or bring your own);
· Sorry we do not allow dogs or pets
· Campers must leave their pitch as they found it, respect the natural environment and generally leave no trace;
· Please make an effort to recycle your rubbish (recycling bins are supplied);
· We do ask all members of a group to make themselves known to the wardens on arrival for health and safety and campsite licence reasons
We trust the requests above do not sound too draconian. We are definitely happy with the people ‘relaxing around a campfire’ type of vibe, but are not the place for a raucous party.
