Camping East Sussex

escape to Beech Estate

Come camping in East Sussex. Explore the forest, relax around the campfire and sleep (almost) under the stars with a stay at Beech Estate Campsite. Set within the edge of a beautiful 600-acre woodland near Battle in East Sussex, our off-grid campsite offers wild glamping and real camping among the trees from April to October. You can see our pitch camping and ‘wild glamping’ options here.

Our campsite pitches are scattered within the forest. Our ‘wild glamping’ bell tents provide a real camping experience – with all the camping equipment supplied for you. We are an off-grid family campsite with a back to nature philosophy – no amplified music or pets allowed.

  • Just wanted to thank you for a wonderful weekend at the faraway pitch on Beech Estate. It’s such a magical place to catch up with friends and see our kids play in the beautiful forest. It truly is a happy place for us. All the COVID measures (and the fresh air) made it feel completely safe and allowed us to enjoy a weekend of normalcy.
We can’t wait to be back there next year.

  • I’ve done camping in a big open field with lots of other tents close by, but this was so different. Not only did we love exploring the estate and the wider area, but we also got to see some shooting stars! – as we laid outside the tent in our own personal clearing. We also loved the locally grown vegetables that were for sale and of course the bucket showers – among the trees!
I was hoping to get my partner into camping and now, this is likely to be a regular spot for us. Can’t wait to come back soon – this is what camping is supposed to be like. 🙂

  • We just wanted to express how much we loved our stay at Beech Estate Campsite.
Everything about it was perfect; the giant clearing where we had bbqs and gazed at the stars, then disappeared into our tent to play chess when the weather got a bit too wild, the toasty fire pit where we hung a hammock and tarp and stayed cosy drinking from our growler from Battle Brewery, the deserted surrounding woodland where we went on long walks which made us feel like it was just us in the world, the local pubs (Castle Inn Fish and Chips and The Squirrel Inn pies, oh my), Bodiam Castle and it’s carp, and even the toilets and showers were delightful, which I wasn’t necessarily expecting!

You guys couldn’t have been more helpful, from the warm welcome when we booked in, to lending us a sponge because we are idiots. We will definitely be booking again (possibly in summer!), and you were so right about our pitch being one of the best.

  • I stayed once this year and loved it so much I recommended it to my two twin brothers who stayed in October to see out the season. It’s been such a tough year on everyone, and Beech Estate has given my whole family a new lease of life during some difficult times. Thank you for providing such a fantastic space.
